This time, we partnered with Community Helpers Unite and North End Community Renewal Corporation to deliver 200 more hampers in the North End, supporting food security and local families. CHU graciously provided warehouse space, while NECRC coordinated the logistics, recruiting local community members to do the hard work of packing and distributing.
By focusing on community-led efforts, we’re creating jobs and building local capacity while providing essential food to families in need. These hampers include items from local businesses and social enterprises, supporting food security year-round and ensuring that families have what they need after the holiday season.
This year, we invested over $21,000 in local purchases from:
- Acorn Family Place
- The Cutting Edge
- Fireweed Food Co-op
- Food Fare
- The Indigenous Woman’s Healing Centre
- Marymound
- Spence Neighborhood Association
This effort is a perfect example of what can be achieved when we work together as a community. Big thanks to everyone who helped make this happen!
