Whether you’re starting a social enterprise, working with a community organization, or embarking on your own solo venture, this workshop series is designed to be a resource to help you navigate the complexities of product development.

Drawing from our experiences since launching the LITE Shop and guided by Matthew Rempel of Strategy Made Simple—a consultant dedicated to helping social businesses thrive through coaching, workshops, and meaningful connections—we hope to equip you with the tools and knowledge you need to succeed. Over five engaging videos, Matthew will guide you through key activities and frameworks to help you understand and manage the risks of product development, from market research to scaling up.

What each session covers:

1. Product Idea Brainstorm and Evaluation Workshop
This first video will kickstart your product development journey. You’ll be guided through the brainstorming process, coming up with innovative product ideas and evaluating them to ensure they meet your enterprise’s goals and market needs.

2. Risks and Risk Management
Every product comes with its share of risks. In this session, you’ll dive deep into identifying various risks, including market, financial, and technical risks. You will learn how to assess these risks and develop effective management strategies to mitigate them.

3. Product/Market Fit Testing
Finding the right product-market fit is crucial for long-term success. This video will guide you through a set of activities to build better tests to understand if you have a fit between your product prototype and your ideal customers.

4. Prototyping
Prototyping is an essential step in transforming your idea into a tangible product. In this session, you’ll explore different prototyping methods to better understand how to go about making new prototypes, what to think about while prototyping, and the iterative process of improving your prototypes over time.

5. Scale Up
Finally, once you’ve developed a solid product and established product-market fit, it’s time to think about growth. You will need to consider different problems and considerations when thinking about scaling up production of a product you’ve designed. Please include questions you have about the scale up process in the comments and we’ll follow up!
