As 2024 comes to a close, we want to thank you for your incredible support this year.
Here are some highlights from this year:
Largest Grant Round Ever: This year, we supported programs for 8 of our partner organizations, including three new ones: Harvest Manitoba, Manitoba League of Persons with Disabilities and Merchants Corner!
New Partnerships: We helped BUILD Inc. launch a new training program, aimed at improving the career potential of 36 demolition crew workers.
Supporting Social Enterprise through Hampers: Partnering with the Christmas Cheer Board, we were able to produce 9,000 of our Good Social Soup mixes.
Acorn Family Place, Marymound, and Spence Neighbourhood Association were each paid to make 3,000 packages, totaling 9,000. Of these, 6,000 soups went into Christmas Cheer Board hampers, while the remaining 3,000 are set aside for our own hamper program, and public sales.
Community Engagement: We were set up at the Good Food Club Farmers Markets all summer, and partnered with Pollocks Hardware Co-op to sell our soups in store (for the first time!).
Plus, we had an incredibly fun and successful 27th Annual Wild Blueberry Pancake Breakfast, creating 20 jobs, supporting 24 volunteers, and raising almost $7,000 to support our programs!
This January, our goal is to distribute 500 hampers through our partner organizations.
This initiative will create jobs and support families facing food insecurity after the costly holiday season. Your donations will help make this possible!
