The last Friday in November is when our traditional Wild Blueberry Pancake Breakfast brings us together over food, to dance, and celebrate all of the community’s hard work.
This year, since we can’t be close together, we’d like you to join us online for two great conversations over pancakes:
From 9:00-9:30am, a view “From the other side of the hiring desk” – The job experiences LITE creates are often the first opportunities program participants get to show what they can do. But what comes after those jobs?
Join Executive director, Tyler Pearce, in conversation with Czarina Macalalad, Talent Acquisition, at Wawanesa Insurance, to tackle some of the common hiccups people experience when trying to get further into the working world.
During the conversation, Tyler will share with you her go-to pancake recipe.
And at 1:00-1:30pm, we’ll be having a conversation with Taylor McArthur, the Nakota digital artist who designed the tote bag for our 2021 LITE Box!
Taylor McArthur (Nakota of Pheasant Rump Nakota First Nation, Saskatchewan) is a digital artist working with 3D animation, video game design, and video. Her practice is informed by Indigenous Futurisms and seeks to situate her Indigenous culture within both the modern and a potential future vision.
